any one know what the engine to pto ratio is, 1st,2nd,and 3rd gear....... never mind on 3'rd it direct or 1:1,know this has been some what covered, but at the drive line after it goes thru the transfer case, with the pto you dont even go thru the transfer, yeh it bolts to the transfer but the power is coming straight of the tranny, if i am getting this right:rofl:

Most pto units do not give gear reduction, they are a 1:1 ratio. The gear reduction comes from the transmission. On a CJ with an 18 transfer case the gearing in each gear comes from the gear reduction in the trans. In other words, if first gear in the transmission is a 3:1 ratio then your reduction is 3:1. If second is 2:1 then reduction is 2:1. Etc. etc. Nickmil

Depends on whether you have a T-90A or a T-90C.
My book shows the T-90C as having ratios of:
    1st 3.339-1
    2nd 1.551-1
    3rd 1-1
    Reverse 3.798-1

I dont have the ratios listed for the T-90A in the book I have here, but I'd try a search as it has been posted before. IIRC first gear for the T-90A was around a 2.95-1.

thanx, got the t90... was not sure if the ratios were based thru the transfer as i do not know what ratio reduction the transfer its self would have between the trans and final out put @ the drive line:rofl:
