Trailers without tailgates... what do you use them for?

    I was thinking about my latest purchase and all that I can haul in it, then severely realized that no tailgate really does hinder the trailer, it would be VERY difficult to load my mower in it R)

    I have seen Boyink's pages of uses, and I am sure I will eventually find my own when I start actually traveling to wheel. But has anyone came up with unique uses for the military style trailers? I am sure mine will do some parade duty eventually when the flatty actually has a decent paint job, but until then I need to justify having it R)

    Mine was invaluable when we moved a couple years ago.

    Hauls mulch nicely and other stuff for home improvement projects.

    $ sink Gazillians of posts

    that's why I bought one that had the back panel hacked up so I could install a tailgate with minimal guilt.

    I DO need to get a load of topsoil to throw in the settled spots from repairing my sewer line...

    Glad I didn't buy one w/o a tailgate. 'Cause I'd have to have cut it up...can't imagine using it w/o.

    A trailer without a tailgate makes a better boat than one with a tailgate!!!

    The 1/4 ton trailers were designed to float just that, 500#. Ammunition works much better if you keep it dry. :)

    When I was a kid my brother and I used to crawl into a wheel barrow and float around the lake. Had about 1/2 " of freeboard!

    When ever i haul alot of loose stuff to the dump or dirt or sand. I usually have my son helping me and we end up standing it on end to get the last out of it. two guys can stand a M416 on end or just roll it over. I like standing mine on end so it don't fill up with water.......
