    Hi All again

Now that we are pretty sure my jeep is either an M606A1 (export) or a CJ5 (export) for military, I have been looking at these Painless Wiring Kits that everyone keeps talking about they sound good so I might try one IF anyone can tell me which one I need and how much they cost bearing in mind I am not to sure of the year of my jeep (see previous threads) and I am over here in good ol blighty, any help on this one be much appreciated.

I am curious about this one too! My jeep is identical, with the exception of a large fuel tank filler opening. The brass plate lists a delivery date of Feb. 1950, and lists it as an M38A1, but according to the literature I have, it does not correspond. The title is listed as 1951. It is still 24 volt, and the battery box clips on between the hood and windshield on the pass. side. The windshield is split, rather than one large piece, and the fenders wrap around the front, rather than flat. I know everything is original, but cannot put a specific name to it, although it is listed as a M38A1. It has a welded tailgate, and one piece front, any help?:flag:  :?

I get confused by the variations of swiss jeeps. Some have one piece screens, others have split screens.
Some have a mesh panel over the grill, some don't.
Some have the petrol/gas cap behind the seat and the 1970 models have them at the rear.
As stated here, some armies used civilian models converted to 24 volt with minimum military spec.
    I dont think mine is a M606 but a militarised CJ5.
Does the civilian CJ5 have the spade bracket under the body?
Does the civvy version have the document/map canvas pouch attached to the rear of the passenger seat?
Ive talked to two other swiss jeep owners and their jeeps seem different to their own.
I cannot find any clear clear information about these jeeps.
    Does anyone know more?

I would suggest starting a new thread on this since the last post, right before yours, is from 2006 ;)
Good use of the search function though!
