In the middle of repairing ball joints, tie rod ends and whatever else I come across. See pic for where I’m at. Spindle is rusted to steering knuckle. Been at it with PB blaster and a flat chisel, but not making any headway.

Anyone have a tips or tools that has worked well for a stubborn one?

Soft hammer, hit it between the race bearing...it should take some lose.

Or just thread on a couple of spindle nuts and use a good 3 jaw puller with the slide hammer. Not as nifty as that tool but it works.

I’ve sold lots of used and new replacement spindles to people who did this. While it can work if not severely rusted in place, the tool is much safer.

It can work quite well, but again, I’ve sold plenty of spindles to people who weren’t careful how they did this.

x2, I have also had good luck with a block of wood and a big Ball Peen on the snout of the spindle. Right then left/ up and down alternating hits. I have never damaged one but have never had one really severally rusted or stuck either.

This I have done also . The thread on tool would be best but it’s $60. I just don’t run into this issue after getting the spindle off the first time. I think if you are in there every year or two the stuck spindle isn’t a problem. I used some anti seize grease around the edge when reinstalling.
