    Hello,

My used dauntless oil pump arrived. I soaked it in carb cleaner overnight and tore into it. I think the plunger for the relief valve is stuck in there... Any tips on getting it out?

    Thanks!

    jpflat2a what's that noise?

If you can find the right passageway, maybe low air pressure ?

I was kind of thinking that as well.... I am soaking it (again) in a can of carb parts cleaner and crossing my fingers it loosens up... Always something

Strong tapping on a solid wood block or wood shop desk top likely will jar the plunger loose, just don't over-do it.

Isn't there a little cut out on the side of it?
Any chance of getting something soft (like a piece of brass or copper wire) to hook it and give it a little tug?

I think there is a slight window where I can access the side of the plunger. Only problem is I can get enough of a grip to move it. I will try and get a pic when I am home.

You might try heating it to see if that breaks the bond. Being aluminum block and a steel plunger that might loosen it up.
I would heat it in a an oven, like a toaster oven, with it being aluminum, and not with a torch.

    nickmil In mothballs.

I've used long reach snap ring pliers to grab the inside of the plunger before.

Pipe tap threaded into the end of the plunger?

Well i guess the 2nd soak helped... I gave her a good smack on the edge of my wooden trailer and it popped out!
