Speedometer Gears

I have a 74 cj5 304 t15 trans 33x121/2 3.73 gears tires how do I get the speedometer to read right thanks

I'm not aware of anyone that sells speedometer gears for the Dana 20. I thought the only way to fix was via one of those expensive ratio adapters. If anyone does find or know of a source for D20 speedo gears, I'd sure like to know as well.

 

The original poster needs to remove his driven gear from under the speedometer cable and adapter on the D20
Record the current number of teeth and the SW number stamped into the gear.
Typically one tooth up or down is good for about 5-6 mph.
The driven gear must be matched to the drive gear inside the D20.
Don't just buy any old gear; you can damage what you have.
So check first then report back.

 

I've seen some on ebay; don't know if it's Crown or another company that is making a few.

 

Actually, have an app on my phone the has a speedo on it.. I just use it if I really care how fast I am going

 

If the OP can determine what gears are needed I'd post an ad in classifieds. Enough 20 parts are floating around that someone probably has some. I may in my stash somewhere.
The ones linked to above won't work. They are late model gears and are completely different.
