You're mounting the compressor toward the engine....you have run out of room for accessories. Wow. really cool.

I know you don't have a mill... How do you make those slots so perfect?

Dangit, I thought about taking a pic of that step, but then I forgot.

I drill holes at each end of the slot, use a sharp soap stone do connect the outside edges of the holes with a straight edge, then cut along the insides of the lines with a grinder/cutoff wheel. Touch up any imperfections with a carbide burr in a die grinder and a file.

You can see the edges where I went a little too far with the grinder in spots.

I have to keep reminding myself that this is just going to be a "comfortable daily driver" and "mild off-roader."

I assume you've calculated the impact of the OBD/Alternator assembly on your center of gravity and have adjusted/offset other equipment accordingly. After all, we want it to fly true and level when you jump it over stop lights and intersections on your way to get groceries! :D

Was just wondering what the weight of the front half of this rig might be compared to stock?

I have no idea. It’ll be interesting to get the measurements when done. The engine alone is around 100-130# lighter than a 134 (depending on your sources). I’m sure I surpassed those savings with the beefier front axle and cage work, but it still feels pretty light to move around.

The plate is finished, although I need to massage it back into shape a little; it warped a tad bit when I welded it up. The compressor’s pulley alignment is a little messed up. Finished weight of the plate is 9 1/2 pounds.

Here’s the back side with stiffener across the top.

Here’s the bottom stiffener on the outside.

The bend was worse than I thought. Holding a board against the face of the crank pulley...

I had to almost cut the plate in half to bend it back, but it’s all good now. Total coincidence: the compressor and alternator use the same size belt.

    It’s getting crowded in there.

Over to the dirty side... Power steering pump is next. The mount will come off those three bosses on the lower corner of the block, and will occupy the center pulley on the crank and outer pulley on the water pump.

You're only using one belt to the alternator, not the special matched pair...

But no electric fan, so no high-amp draws in its future.

Still trying to figure a way to run the PTO winch.
