ramsey pt1-j question

    i have a 71 cj5 and wondering if a ramsey pt1-j will be a direct bolt on? the unit came off from a 55 cj5.

    Yep I have one on my 57 CJ5.

    Is this a pto that is supposed to bolt on where your overdrive is? If so, you're going to need the adapter housing to make it work with the OD.

    unca, yes i need to get the adapter down the road. and if my research is right the pt1-j is for the cj models and it doesn't matter what trans you have because it runs off the transfer case right?

    Correct. Remove the cover on the back of the transfer case and bolt on. If you have an overdrive currently you wl need an adapter and drive gear to bolt the two together the. Figure out shifter linkage.
