I bought some steel wheels with 2.5 backspace from Summit. I also found some at 4wheel parts.

Check stock before ordering. Many are special order with that backspace and could take months (and there's the reason I found Summit had the same wheels).

Only had the wheels on for about 1,000 miles. But I happened to have new bearings in it that are well greased. I don't think the extra 1" on each side will make that big a difference.

In a wheel that narrow it shouldn't be an issue at all. I've been running 33"x12.50"x15" tires on first 8" then 10" wide wheels with no issues attributable to wheel offset or width for 25 years. As long as you are diligent about re packing and adjusting the wheel bearings you should be fine.

I’m running 15X10 wheels with 2.5” BS and haven’t had a problem keeping bearings alive for over 10 years of use. But like nickmil posted I’m diligent about cleaning and repacking the bearings at least once a year.

As for where to get wheels like that I’m not sure. I bought mine several years ago and because of this topic I went to the internet store I bought them from and they no longer offer them.

Current wheels are 3 1/2" iirc but keep in mind for years I ran sand with 31 x15.50 x 15 terra tires and paddles on 15" wide wheels. The paddles were on 1" backspaced wheels and Terra's were on 3" or so backspacing.

I have a set. I got them this past spring from Summit. They're ProComp's and are 15x8. It did take about a month to get them though, presumably because they had to build them.

Yep, that was my experience too. Was going to go with the round hole type but ended up with the "D" shape hole instead just because of the build time involved.

I'm really happy with them. I bought the 2 1/2" backspace to make sure they went over my disk brake calipers. When I converted it to disks the old wheels wouldn't fit. Even still with the new wheels I had to grind a little off the edge of the calipers so they wouldn't rub.

what disk brakes did you use when you converted..
I also went to disks, used 82 CJ knuckles and calipers..
