225 v6 question

I was wanting to know if anybody knows where i can get a new oil pan for my 225.. somewhere in its life it was jacked up on the oil pan and it made a lovely dent it still works fine but I haven't had any luck finding one.

 

Dents in oil pans can easily be repaired using a block of wood and a BFH. They just have to be fairly close to original for holding the proper volume of oil to read properly on the dip stick. You will be surprised as to how easy it is to ding back out.

 

Like Walt says they can be straightened back out pretty easily with some time and patience. You could also out an ad in the classifieds section if you haven't already. Someone may have one laying around.

I was looking for one the other day too. Not because of a dent, but when I went to change the oil you could push the bottom of the pan up and down with one finger. appears to be made of very thin metal. Not sure if it's original or not. Just wanted to know about a spare if I end up banging it on something and tearing it open.

 

and I had one more question when I remove the oil pan do I need to remove the timing chain cover as well?

 

You do not have to remove the timing cover.
