Oddball crossmember

Got a late '69 CJ5, V6/T14. The trans crossmember is different than any I have seen and not like the one on my early '69 CJ5 V6. It was mounted backwards (I know this becuase the skid plate was backwards and it will bolt to crossmember only one way). Trans mount holes won't line up at all when I flipped it around. Can anybody tell me if this is the right crossmember for this Jeep, or what it came off of?

    Thanks in advance.

FYI, should have put this in early CJ forum. Sorry.

I am far from an expert but that is different than any oem jeep crossmember I have ever seen...looks like a junkyard piece?

    Moved to proper forum.
Looks like the oddball very late'75- early '76 only crossmember I've run into. There was a crossmember used during the crossover of body style and chassis style that looked like that. I've had two of them in my posession.

    My thought too.

I can look under my CJ-6 when the weather dries out.

Thanks for moving to proper forum, nickmil.

I am a flatty guy and am using the frame to build a 3A (reason for I posting in wrong forum). I guessed the crossmember was either a later one or a T18 unit. It has a stepped-down surface with two holes at rear that may work perfectly for the SM420 adapter and mount I got from Novak's; the hole spacing matches perfectly, at least.
