Brake Backing Plates

    I have a set of 11" backing plates for my CJ3B project. Has anyone ever powder coated backing plates or is it better to paint?

    I have have 3 pair of plates and would like to get them cleaned up and ready to go on my project. Plan to have them blasted and painted or coated. Not sure which would be better.

    nickmil In mothballs.

    Paint is easier but powdercoating is more durable if done correctly. I've done both. I like powdercoating better but Krylon or Rustoleum is cheap and immediate.
