I've been trying to figure out for sure if the sm465 would bolt to a Buick/Jeep 225.
    Novak's site says
    "Engine Compatibility and Adaptability
    GM
As the reader will conclude, the Chevrolet and General Motors SM465 will marry directly to a GM style bellhousing. This includes Chevy car, Buick, Oldsmobile and Pontiac bellhousings."

So reading that I am thinking it would be possible- But, Has anyone ever done it?
    Thanks for the help.

    nickmil In mothballs.

The front bearing retainer needs machined down some and the bellhousing needs opened up some. Hopefully someone will chime in with some specs.

Very widely done swap. Novak sells front bearing retainers already turned down. They sell kits with all the parts you need including a new tailshaft, http://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/kit_462.htm.
You still need access to a bearing press and clamp which slides around the bearings to pull them (I forget the proper name)

Yes they do with a little work on the bell and front bearing retainer as mentioned. Any combination of getting the proper size works. I was short a bell at the time, so I got one from AA setup for the stock size bearing retainer. My adaptor to the D18 is the Novak 1" and have a couple AA ones on a shelf.

The chevy v8 bell is not the same bolt pattern as the buick 225/231. I simply used a buick bell housing then mounted the sm465. Novak adapter for the transfer case.
