So I went in to have my caster angle checked after only 500 or less miles on new leaf springs. I purchased them recently from Morris 4X4 Center online at $99/ea, Part Number 5363229.

    http://www.jeep4x4center.com/front-leaf-spring-4-layer-5363229.html

I do not blame Morris 4x4 Center. Their customer service is helping me work with the manufacturer, although we have heard nothing back as of yet. I am just disappointed in the quality of these parts. Granted these are "Light Duty" springs but my CJ is pretty stock and they should hold up as an OEM replacement, right? WRONG!

As soon as I got out of the Jeep we noticed she was leaning a bit forward and to the left, kind of a racing stance. Take a look at how well these new springs hold up. Now I am attempting to deal with returning them.

Not a happy jeeper. See pics...

i did have the same problem as you...bring the jeep at a professionnal shop who only do leaf spring suspension...all the leaf become flat couple of month after instalation...cost me 1 600$ and the only thing the shop told me, you ask for a good suspension that flex, that's you have not my problem anymore....i buy new front leaf from procomp and they do the job...gonna buy the rear pretty soon....

sorry fo you...like lennon said, you're not the only one...;)

Those springs have an Omix-Ada part number, which frankly doesn't surprise me. Typical of the "quality" of their parts.

They are definitely under-engineered. Way too much un-supported main leaf IMHO.

Thats terrible, I have used BDS suspensions in the past with great results. A couple buddys have used them as well and were very happy with them.. The company garentees their springs no matter what. I was in an accident and bent a rear leaf, They replaced it free!! Their garentee is if you brake or bend it they will replace it, no questions. I thought since the spring got bent in the accident that they wouldnt replace it, but they did. Since then, they are my suspension company.
(Big dicks suspension) I believe they are in tenn. May want to try them if Morris gives you the run around.

I was informed by Morris that the manufacturer saw these pictures and determined there was indeed a defect in the parts. If you look at the picture in the online catalog it does not show the main leaf being so long, which may be the defect itself. We'll have to wait and see what the new ones look like. If they fail again, I will be taking some of your suggestions/recommendations above. Thanks y'all!

Thats interesting, I thought most springs, even lifted were double wrapped around the eye or military wrapped. If I recall my old rancho lift springs were anyway...

Not all are John, but many are. Most do have a full length second leaf to support the main leaf though.

X2 for BDS springs. I just had to replace my front ones, which were 8 years old & had sagged a couple inches (I have a winch & a big heavy towbar). Covered under warranty at no cost to me. Unfortunately they only make 2" lift springs for a Jeep, so if you're looking for a stock repacement, you're SOL.
They do have the full military wrap 2nd leaf-

thats odd colojeepguy, I had a 79 cj-7 and bought a BDS 4" lift. It was quite a few years back so maybe things have changed, or Availibility for diff years are dif. Either way, I really liked the companys service and no hassle garentee!!

    AARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!

Bad news. Put on the second set and it sagged AGAIN!! I can't believe it! Do not under any circumstances buy these springs.

Morris 4X4, however, has done a great job trying to keep up with the project, so it's not their fault.

So, the 6 leaf rear seem to hold just fine, and they are sending out the heavy duty 7 layer front springs at no charge.

    The question....

Is there any problem with having a 7 layer in front and a 6 layer in the rear?

    Thanks!

I must have missed something. I thought these were Omix springs. They're Skyjacker??

These do not look like any Skyjacker Jeep Springs I've ever seem. All the ones I have use bolt clips. The long unsupported main leaf these have reminds me of my old OE YJ springs. I was very happy with the OME upgrade I did to that rig.

My apologies, yes, Crown. It seems I have an issue with almost every part I get from them, FYI.

What about the 7 layer in front and 6 in rear question?

It makes no difference if the front and rear springs have a different amount of leafs..
