another stupid brake question

So i tackled redoing the front brakes on my 66 cj5a and then went to the rear. Ordered all new drums pads and wheel cylinders for the front 10 inch drums and got that done but the rear appear to be 9 inch. Was this common 10 inch fronts and 9 inch rears? Guess i will have some extra brake bads as the flaps guy said they have 10 inch all the way around.

    Thanks in advance

More likely that one of the axles was swapped out somewhere along the line. The '66 should have had 10" brakes from the factory.

Should have the same brake size all the way around. Like Steve said something has been swapped at some point. Also, pads are used with disc brakes, shoes are used with drum brakes

yeah that was kinda my assumption though looks like it was a rather long time ago considering all the grease and accumulated grime in the general area. Would there be any problems with running these 9's in the rear other than a little weaker breaking than the tens that would have originally been there?

I'm going to have lots of leftovers from a '66 CJ-5 with 10"ers (doing a brake swap). Want any of it? Free if you pay for shipping.

I'll have 2 manual adjust 10" backing plates, all 4 wheel cylinders, WC push rods, WC mounting bolts, springs and other hardware, shoes to get core refund, and even drums if you have a press to remove the hubs attached to them. Let me know.
