DJ Steering Column Universal Source

I put a DJ steering column from postal jeep in my CJ when I did my power steering swap. Not sure exactly what year it was from, but it's the same as other members on here have used on there swaps.

Looks like now the universal at the end of the column is worn and I need to replace it. Anyone have a part #/source for this? I looked around at various parts store catalogs on line, and came up with nothing.

I contacted postaljeep.net, and they want $49 for the universal. Seems kind of pricey.

Anyone else have any resources?

 

I agree with Vanguard. I've used both and they work good.

 

I got a nice small ujoint from Speedway for around $40. The OE joint that came on my DJ column was enormous in comparison and was going to be a chore to work with on my V6/saginaw conversion on the flatty, though maybe you've got more room than me.

Thanks for the input. I'll try and cross reference with the Spicer joints and post any findings.

 

Spicer joints are even bigger then the stock one.

 

the DJ is not the same as the CJ the spline count is much higher! They were not the same year to year. i think it had more to do with the source then the model. if postal say it will work, it should. you can also take the old one down to a napa that is helpful (from what I hear not all are) and cross it over with sizes.

Edit: I have also seen different size joints, mainly in the cap size.

 

I did think of one other source for a good part. John is a pretty good guy and sells DJ stuff. He is a retired USPS mechanic.
