So what length did you end up going with? I am just looking into buying a column myself. I am kind of partial to having the wheel close to me. I had been considering a 30" flaming river street rod column. http://www.flamingriver.com/index.c...tegory_id=194/home_id=62/mode=prod/prd265.htm I like the tilt and that it is a 1 3/4" diameter column. I want to have integrated turn signal as well as a regular steering wheel. What do you think?

Used FR20001 (30" x 1 3/4) in 3B and a Grant 990 wheel with very little dish. Should be jpg in my 3B album. It has worked very well (except for the dimmer adapter) for 3 years so far. The Flamming River dimmer switch turned out to be a bit unreliable, so I ended up replacing it with one in the dash: moral to story, keep the foot switch.

Thanks. I think I might go with the 30" column then. If I don't find it close enough for me I will go with a deeper wheel. Does the Flaming river column have a dimmer switch built into the turn signal stalk then? I just assumed that the column had a turn signal, tilt lever, and hazard light switch. Overall I like this column better than many I have looked at.

The FR dimmer is a separate solid state module and a new wand with provision for a miniture momentary switch in the end. The switch grounds one module lead which then toggles the dimmer function. This "accessory" was about $70 as I recall and is in addition to the column $.

Is column length measured from the floorboard or entire end-to-end length?

Entire length. Too many variables as to how much the column sticks through the floor to measure from the floor up to the steering wheel end.
