ok, i know what it is, what it does, but where do i find one for the 225? i went to napa and the guy behind the counter never even heard of a dashpot. but we did find one in there catalog (from 2001) but the part # no longer exists. apparently not made anymore? anyone got any suggestions on where to find? i seen Holley universal dashpots online but i want to be sure it'll work before i buy. what about a 231, do they have the same part? -thanks in advance

They exist, we've discussed them here in the past, complete with part numbers and a link to a part source.

hmmm....my search turns up next to nothing but yours doesn't. and yes i'm googling the forums. anyhow, rockauto lists one but it for a Holley 2 barrel, i got a rodchester. seems like every one i find is for holley. off to work, i'll figure it out tomarrow:rofl:

There was no Holley 2BBL put on a V6. I don't know why they have the Holley on there.

225's were used as marine engines a lot and some had holley 2 barrels on them. Could be where the reference came from. Don't know why they used holley's on some but have seen a couple in old boats.... Nickmil

Could be marine I guess, but not on a Jeep in 1971 which is where I found the dashpot on their website by drilling down.

Sparky is using the "search" on the "user CP" bar. you are using the top search tab (google)

Yup, I agree completely. Just wanted to point it out because the books sometimes don't make the distinction between the two even though they are apples and oranges and the looked up application is totally different.
