My front lap belts have seemed to have disappeared into thin air. I want to replace them and install 2 in the rear for the rear seat as well.

What are you guys using that will be long enough for the lowback jeep style of seats?

I used the same supplier, but added a 3 point.

I use racing lap belts. Inexpensive when acquired from racers when outdated, last hella amount of years, easy to mount, available in different widths, can easily add shoulder and submarine belts if wanted, and release very quickly if needed.

I used this style but in a 72" of I recall. Push button in the rear though so the kids can't easily unbuckle while under way.

Lap belts can cause serious injuries, sometimes. worse than not wearing belts at all. I'd reccomend a 3 point belt where the shoulder attachment mounts to a roll bar.

My jeep may be a bit different then most situations. I'm restoring to as close to factory as I can. Will not see trail use. So take grain of salt as I'm trying to match 99% factory.

I found seat belts that were very close to factory. 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle/Malibu BLACK LAP SEAT BELT WITH CARRIAGE EMBLEM (WORKS ON FRONT & REAR SEATS) - EACH $79. Found on thepartsplace.com. bad website for searching so you have to go to the '65 catalog and scroll pages to interior and belts. 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle/Malibu BLACK LAP SEAT BELT WITH CARRIAGE EMBLEM (WORKS ON FRONT & REAR SEATS) - EACH | Chevrolet Chevelle/Malibu Parts | IN12860Z

These look almost exact. They do use the exact same claps (NOT the push button type), and similar plastic claps covers. But use a different mount tab, so OEM rubber bolt covers won't fit. Also the plastic cover angle is different. And they don't have the "jeep" logo. But you can find those elsewhere. They do have the proper recessed space for the logo. Again, I'm going for period correct, so details are important.

Like others have said, I wouldn't use a lap belt for Trail or even as daily driver. They could be unsafe. I ordered a set of these and I have them here if you need a pic. Not 100% sure I'll use them due to the slight differences. I sent my belts to Ssnake Oyl last week to get restored. Waiting on a quote and most likely I'll have mine restored there. and not use the Malibu belts.

Hmm. My 1974 DJ5 (postal) has a lap belt with the retractor on the outboard side. None of these options listed above have the newer tech?

I'd rather not have retractable belts in it.

I had some at one point from a station wagon rear seat and they got pretty gacked up with dirt and crud and took taking them apart to get them running again.

Loose belts are better for me at least.

Roll bars way to far back in my 6 to do that.

Are you running the correct roll bar for a 6? The roll bar for a CJ-5 will be too far back to be effective in a CJ-6. The Smittybilt bar for a CJ-6 (all that was available?) goes to the floor, behind the front seats.

cj5 roll bar for now. Never could find the smittybuilt rollbar . Anythings better than nothing for the time being. I am using what i have on hand and what I can realistically afford right now.

I've talked to extreme custom fab about a yj family style roll bar in the likeness of this cj6. We'll see how it pans out. I have some AKM's that I have been looking to sell and the Covid panic has firearms prices through the roof. I'd probably be able to get a custom one made if I decide to put them up on Gunbroker.
