Here's some pics of my windshield frame. I don’t think it is original, one clue is that the wiper motors are 12V and I think they should be vacuum for a 1966, right?

The other clue is paint. My Jeep (I think) was Prairie Gold. The hood was Red and rattle can black, fenders and body gold over grey primer. This windshield is black. I’d love to know what it came off of, to see if it’s correct or not.

    thanks!

Looks like a ‘55-‘68 with wiper motor conversion. My ‘59 had that same wiper motor on the driver side only and had been converted. I seem to recall those were available mail order back in the day. Are those standoffs, latch, and upper hinges chrome? If so maybe Tuxedo Park. I’m not a restoration guy though so hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in.

The consensus around here is that the top mount electric wipers were factory for 1967 and maybe late 1966. In 68 they went to the bottom mount electrics. Those are the correct type motors for top factory top mount electrics. All windshields at the time were painted black no matter what the body color was. Your windshield does have all the Tux chrome bits. It's a good possibility it's the original windshield/wipers if your build date was in late 66.

Keys5a also once told me when I asked about color:

“Sorry, but the Kaiser windshield frames were gloss black from the factory, grab bars were either gloss black or chrome, and were "Jeep Approved" options. The floor plates and seat brackets were also gloss black. The gloss black was enamel, not the "wet look" gloss of base/clear.”

My Jeep is Tuxedo Park #450 from model year 1966...

Yep I think your windshield is the Tux original for your Jeep.

How about the paint color on this tailgate I got at the junkyard? Is this “Indian ceramic?” Or “presidential red?” It came off a 1967 CJ5.

It looks like faded presidential red to me, but you should polish a spot to see that the color really was.

    Wow.
    A Milne Bros Jeep sticker.
Hall of Fame material right there.
That junkyard Jeep could have had other aftermarket goodies on it.

Chrome windshield catch and wiper motor guards.........it's all saying Tuxedo Park to me. You have the last pieces of my Tuxedo Park puzzle with those upper windshield hinges and wiper guards there, which appear to be in good condition.

The wiper motors could have been changed out/updated somewhere along the way. But they look pretty vintage to me.

The gate is not Tuxedo Park.

I have seen early ‘68 with top mounted wipers from the factory and later ‘68 with bottom mount wipers but flat top glass. Seems to be a transition year. I’ve seen lots of anomalies in ‘67 CJ’s too. I suspect Kaiser/Jeep used whatever was on hand and immediately available on the assembly line to keep things moving.

What makes a tailgate a "tux tailgate?" Here's a couple images I have stored for reference.

    182890c6cb7c_low_res_1966-jeep-8322-cj-5a-tuxedo-park-mark-iv.jpg 1966-Willys-Kaiser-Jeep-CJ5-Praire-Gold-9.6.2013-035-700x450.jpg

I grabbed this one because my tailgate is rusted out, bent, and swiss-cheesed with holes from two different spare tire mounts. It actually had a piece of 3/16" diamond plate bolted to the entire backside of it when I removed it from the Jeep...

And the plate holder is somewhere in a box that I can’t find of course

A bit late here on the reply, but your windshield frame assy would be correct for a later '66 and '67 Tuxedo Park. When I say later, its because the elecrtic wipers were introduced sometime in the '66 model year. I've seen early '66 with vacuum wipers, but most, if not all with the V6 got electric wipers. That bracket by the strap (top inside) is not original, maybe from a mirror? All the chrome trim and fasteners are Tux, but the stainless ones on the inside clamps should be recesses heads in chrome, as well as the main hinge bolts.
As far as the tailgate, all blank style (not "Willys"or "Jeep") are correct for a Tux, but the Tux has the 4 mounting holes (2 top of the blank, 2 just below) for the license light so may have a 5 hole for a wire clip. On your black tailgate, the 4 small holes near the center are the originals. Just measure and transfer these locations to your red tailgate.
You can tell an original tailgate from a reproduction from the upper right corner under the rolled top edge. It will have a unique cutout/notches on the outer layer where it is spot welded.
By the way, are your tailgate chains chrome? They should be!

I don’t want to start a new thread for each item I have questions about, so I’m going to change the title and keep my questions in here.

Anyone know if this mirror is original or aftermarket?

It's not original to your jeep. Original didn't have that bright/dim lever.

    Ok how about this hood?

My Jeep body is Gold Beige Poly. This hood has always perplexed me as it seems to be red underneath the gold on the Inside, and gold on top (and then PO rattle can black on top of that.) the Tux badge holes on the sides look factory to me.
