Prop Shaft U Bolts Mismatch

The Spicer 25 front axle in my CJ3A has been replaced with a 27A from a l969 CJ5. Unfortunately the prop shaft U bolt flange with bolt holes CtoC 1-3/8" & 2-7/8" on the prop shaft used with the 25 are not compatible with the pinion flange U bolt holes 1-3/8" & 2-1/4" on the 27A
Has anyone solved this mismatch problem, and how? PN(s) and source(s)? Thank you

You're gonna need a new yoke. How many splines are on the D27? You may be able to swap them if they are the same spline count.

Yea - the D27 is probably from a v6 cj - the u-joints were made a bit smaller. There are yokes you can buy that will work...I'd check the D18 end of the driveshaft as well, as I believe that will be the small ujoint as well, and might not fit with a 4cyl D18.

i had the same issue and fellow member mtnmax had a post about northern drivetrain. they make 1310 yokes with a 26 spline shaft for the d27

You need a 27 yoke from an IH Scout 80. They used 27’s front and rear with the Spicer 153 U-joint (the larger one you are looking for). ‘62 to around ‘66 with the 152 slant four engine. The 27 was a unique depth and spline count combination that no other yoke will replicate despite what some will say.
