Add says from a 69 CJ5 but diff appears centered. So I thought maybe from an intermediate but spring perches look further outboard than my 73 D44.

    Probably a '69 DJ5. (Postal)

Appears to be out of a Commando. Postal are spring over and have shock mounts. Those used to be a hot item as they are a direct bolt in for a 76 and up CJ with a Model 20 rear end.

Neat. The wider spring pads caused me to wonder if it would fit a 76+. I'm picking it up today.

Well its missing carrier bearing caps. Still worth $30, but is a D44 housing with no caps salvageable?

Yes. Any good gear guy will have the ability to replace the caps and get a good setup.
