While hunting last weekend I found that I did not have 4wd. The transfer case was working properly and I narrowed it down to the right front hub. I found that springs inside the hub were stretched and trying to cock the sliding gear sideways. This was causing the hub to not consistently engage. I have tried to stretch the other springs to match and have messed up all 4 springs.

I have searched the warn site and only found gasket and bolt kits.
Is there a way to source these 4 springs?
Does anyone have the specs for a generic hardware store spring?
Are the new warn premium hubs with wave springs superior to what I have?

I use the newest Warn hubs on my full float rear axle. They have yet to give me any problem.

I am currently running drive flanges on my FF conversion. I am considering ordering the 10 splines for the front, 27 splines for the back and throwing my good front hub and one drive flange in the under seat tool box for spares.
4WD.com will deliver the front for $156.59 and the rear for 134.09 delivered. On sale for 5 more hours.......

Not sure if I have any of that stuff left but I can check. Won't be tonight though.

    Thank you, Nick.
I talked to a couple people who claim that the newer style springs are much better and went ahead with the new hubs. I also was concerned with the RF as it had some galding on the gear that slides over the axle shaft.
This way I will have one good spare for the under seat tool box. My wife and I often camp and travel alone and I like the comfort of having items like that on board.

    Nick,
Is it your opinion that the newer style are an improvement over the older?

I think so. I've seen way too many springs stretched like in the pics on that style. I feel the newer style puts more even pressure on the parts for locking and unlocking and even if you stretch them a little removing them the stretch will typically be more even.
