    The current plan is to stick a car 4 speed behind this. I aim to have something better suited for driving on pavement.

    Resurfaced the fhead. I didn't like the small pins so I threw in a couple larger pins. That repair spot was kinda dicey. If you drilled through the block right there you'd end up in the exhaust port and that wouldn't be ideal.

    ???????? Kinda Strange from my view ? Could it be that the AC Delco / Mexico Parts are not the qaulity that they once were ? I use them too..........& have noticed similar premature failures.

    It was early morning snow in western CO.
    The forecast was for rain throughout the area, but it got colder than expected.

    Whatcha doing with that floor and toolbox?

    The toolbox is toast. The Jeep was rolled hard on that side and ruined it. The floorboard, not sure yet. If you were local I’d probably give it to you if I don’t end up needing it. I chopped out a bunch of bits that will available to folks who need them. Things like left marker light indent, underseat fuel tank fill, top bow sockets, etc.

    Had a liittle issue with my cj6 this eve comin home from work. It was missing a little. Pulled the cap,(HEI), when I got home and found the rotor button had shortened itself by a smidgen. The tip had burned off a little. I have to say, I was surprised.
    Probably no more than 5k on it.

    Drove across town to the jeep/car show. 2x the Jeeps there as cars. Only 5 CJs, my 66 was the oldest. A very nice ‘80 CJ took first place. If you’re not first you’re last!!

    After sitting around most of the day we went over to the RTI ramp.

    [IMG]

    Not that this does anything but it’s interesting. They said 964 was very good for a short wheel base jeep.

    964 is an excellent score for a CJ5! I got a 750, but nobody was standing on my rear bumper either.

    Okay guys. What do those numbers mean?

    964 or .964 is the percentage of your wheelbase that you can travel up a (usually 30 degree) ramp without lifting a tire. So a 81" wb jeep went 78" up the ramp. Standing on the bumper can skew that number.

    RTI = ramp travel index
    The distance traveled up the ramp is divided by the vehicle's wheelbase and finally multiplied by 1000 to give a final RTI score. Most stock SUVs have RTI values from 400 to 550; vehicles modified for off-road competition have the ability to exceed 1000.
    In other words a score of 1000 means the vehicle drove up the ramp exactly as far as it is long in wheelbase....scott's 964 is very close.
