hello again, its been making this noise for quite a while and i could never pin it down, when i am in 3rd gear or in overdrive it makes this tick when ever i go from foot off the gas to foot on the gas, any idea what it could be? im not sure if it makes this noise in 1st or second cause im not usualy listening. it sounds like its from the passenger side in the engine bay though

See (listen) if you get it when you alternate from forward and reverse in the driveway. Could be slack in the driveline from a worn U-joint.

    May be manifold heat riser.

Could be engine ping from timing being off or crappy gas?

How odd (no pun intended) I have same set up and problem as oringnal post, '71 V6 225. I thought it was poor gas as well, problem just came out of no where. Filled tank with the good stuff, no different. I am thinking heat riser as well.

On my 70 I was getting a weird sound when I would "touch the gas". Turned out to be a loose anti torque bolt between the t-case and the crossmember. It was really bugging me on a trail ride but turned out to be fairly harmless.
