with a lot of fab work.....late model (assuming 76 or newer) will be wider and longer.........anything can be made to work with a sawsall and a welding machine

Pretty sure it will not fit. The floors and wheel houses change between 1975 and 1976, so the measurements for the rollbar will be different. The hoop will be the right width, but the height and mounting will be different.

I have a 1976 CJ5 factory rollbar in my 1970 CJ6 with no fitment problems, it evan has a hardtop.
The body had the holes punched for the factory option rollbar.

Uh, define "late model". CJ? YJ? TJ? What are you talking about here? Lots of variation in your vague question....

i think he was talking 90s and later, like yj and wranglers.

I have a 1955 CJ5 and I put a YJ roll bar in it. It's perfect for width but a bit long so I took some length off of the supports, welded a piece of flat bar to the bottom and it fits great. It has the bosses already in it for the shoulder belts although I haven't got them in yet. I haven't tried it with a soft top, since I don't have one but it fits perfect for height with the steel Koenig hard top.

I don't have any pictures but I'll try to post some if anyone's interested. I'm in the very slow process of moving and I dont have room for my jeep here yet.

Back to original question as posted above. YJ's are considered Wranglers. TJ's are considered Wranglers. Huge difference between the two......Maybe more concrete information to go by?

cj5 rollbar's never went to the floor. The CJ7s were fenderwell mounted then at some point in the 70's it changed to floor mounted.

The photographic evidence begs to differ. Here's a completely original 1980 CJ5 that clearly has the floor mounted style of bar: http://www.jeepcj.net/1980JeepLaredo.htm

My original roll bar went all the way to the floor.
