alright. what I want is something kinda like corner crushers, but I want one that is the corner guard and sold all the way across where the tailgate would be if it had one. anyone see anything like this?

Warrior Products had some like that a couple of years ago. Might contact them and see if they still offer them. Nickmil

I've got the full wrap from Warrior Products. I ordered it from Quadratec. That's one route, another might be your local metal supply place. Shouldn't be too hard to fab, especially if they have a shear and will cut to size for you.

Well I was looking at wp a few minutes ago and they still offer diamond plate aluminum wraps, but I was looking for something more of a 12 gauge steel type thing. The hand fabbing wouldn't be that hard, I have done MUCH worse, but the 12 gauge steel is a little tougher to cut straight and a hell of alot harder to bend to the curves so..... I do however have a buddy that works at a machine shop so I may see what he can do,.....

Check with these guys:http://www.4x4now.com/4wsbioy.htm I guarantee they aren't cheap, but they are ruggged! IIRC, Boyink has these on SSDutch. They could probably make you the full wrap also, or get the corners and weld your center panel in yourself.

I just bought the Warrior 12ga steel full wrap for my M38A1. So yes, they still make it. It was dropped shipped and I don't remember who I got it from, though. It is out there!

Cool, I will try there later when I get a chance to get away from the desk for a minute, basically what I have is there is no rust on the jeep, however it has been backed into a tree in the rear a couple times (only on the flat parts, the corners are great) so my thoughts are to delete the tailgate and weld a pice like this on it so that it is a renegade looking smooth rear end. and to top that off for the added strength incase I do back into something/lay it on the rocks.

Not yet. My jeep is on my lift with the rear end completely out. I have the rear wrap held on with vice grip c-clamps right now. I need to finalize location and I will mark where I need to trim. I am going to put 4" LED taillighlts in it and I want to clearance so I can put my pintle back on. Once it is bolted down I'll drill for my spare tire holder and gas can mount. I'm going to do body work and paint underneath before finish bolting it in. I'll probably seam seal at least the top, but rust concerns me long term.

Would you use these to replace rusted out corners or just on top to protect them?

I used them mainly because I had them. I originally bought them to go over rusted out corners on my 5. My 6 was solid, but had some slight sheet metal issues so I just used the corners again. I've gotten to kind of like the looks of the diamond plate painted to match.

you could cover rot/rust with it, but it willmake it worse over time
