    So,
I removed my transmission and t-case a while ago...it had a 1/4" width steel plate between the cross member and frame rail on one side along with the same width on the other in grade 8 washers....

From factory did jeeps come with these plates? I've got the FSM but sometimes they dont include EVERYthing done at factory...Ideas?

Yes they were factory installed. Different years and different transmissions dictated how many were installed. Some years they were even made out of oak.

OK! I guess then does anyone know how thick a spacer should be for a 69 Jeep CJ5 with a V-6 T-14 trans?

I would say, if your rear diff has a four degree rise, then the xfer case angle should the same amount in drop.

    John,

Would you happen to know if the T86 has the same insulator as the T14? Also did you have any lift to the vehicle?

Thanks for all the advice gents, I'm going with about 5/8ths tall on the overall height of the spacer.
