  1. Well, fired the 225, 50lbs of oil pressure cold :), and pulled it

The 300 is coming together, little tough finding rockers for an antique motor though. Enjoy

Going to make that body look pretty, right? ;) A nice red perhaps?

  3. Never. If the body were pretty, it would hurt my feelings when I bounce it off of trees. Leave it like it is, rattle can touch ups, and its all fun without the guilt. :)

Hey there awesome build!!!I have a question about your shortened front dana 44, was the front axle cut down to the same track width as the stock 27 like 48.5 inches? If so the measurements on the inner shafts are correct? What was the cost to cut down the two front shafts... and what full size dana 44 were they out of?
    Thanks j

Awesome build... I have only one suggestion, I would anchor end of your bolt in your transfer case shifters. It would help keep the shifters from flopping around

Saw that engine today up at R&P; what a beauty. I will do mine nice and slow then hope it will look as good as your v8.

  10. Yeah, I have been thinking about that too... I'm just not sure that I want to grind that much on the top/side of the Sm465 case, its a little tight. Any ideas?

Just looking at your pictures that you posted, I would look at building a brace that could attach to the PTO cover bolts, and then anchor the outside end of the bolt. Its hard to tell if the driveshaft would cause trouble though. Another option would be the bell housing bolts or the top cover. Maybe someone else can come up with something...

Or maybe tie something into the original shifter mount? If you used stiff enough material, that might work

    I was texted this today...

  14. Fired it up tonight... everything seemed to work pretty well with the exception of the accelerator pump, and the idle circuit... time for a carb rebuild, guess for an unknown, I should have expected this. Motor sounds good, no lifter noise, no rod knock, no smoke, no leaks, and exhaust sounds pretty good too.

Where did you buy your towbar? I love the way your jeep looks!

  17. Towbar is borrowed from Paul at R&P, they used to make them.
