tuxedo park emblems -- refurbishment

I've several tuxedo park emblems... The chrome is OK, but the lettering is faded. Looking for a clever way to renew the black inset on a chrome emblem.

Using a paint brush is out of the question ---

I've tried an ink pen with paint and the results are less than acceptable. There must be a way to get black paint into those recesses.... Somehow they got the black paint in there to begin with....

Or, perhaps it isn't black paint, but some printers ink or something.... I'm planning on spraying the emblem with a high gloss clear, so the black doesn't even have to be a gloss paint/ink/??, but it has to flow easily in the recess...

    Thanks in advance...

why no paint brush you got the shakes? usually youd just flood it and wipe off any excess. tiny brush obviously. any hobby store will have good ones.

    nickmil In mothballs.

Toothpicks can work as well as a fine modelers brush.

Syringe filled with paint? Can you flood the recesses?

I used to cover the exposed parts where you do not want paint with white grease or vaseline and then spray the emblem. When the paint dries just wipe off the grease/vaseline.

This is what mine looked like after painting with a small brush. I kinda flooded the area with black art paint (enamel) and didn't worry about over paint. After a few minutes of dry time I removed the excess from the chrome part by using a popsicle stick that I cut the rounded end off with scissors to make it straight. The whole process took less than 30 minutes. The quality of the finished product was very adequate for me and it passed muster. ;)

This is the way to do it. Push into the corners then middle area and it will all be nice and level.

You said you have several Tuxedo Park emblems? Ive been looking for some but cant find them anywhere. Where did you find them!?
    I have a 1966 CJ-5A Tuxedo Park Mark IV V6.
And its missing one of the two Tuxedo Park Mark IV emblems on the hood, and the one it does have is messed up, and painted over.
It has both of the V6 emblems, but they have been painted over also and looks bad.
I am fixing up this jeep, but I cant find anyone who sells these emblems.
Do you know where I can find them? Or are you willing to sell a couple?
    Thanks!

I like the syringe idea. I'll see if I can get 'hold of one and try it. I tried art pens and ink, but that didn't pan out. I thought that I could spray a clear coat over the entire thing if I could get something to flow...

I'm sure there is a clever way of doing it... This problem is on about any car with chrome emblems..

I'm going to the paint shop in the next few days and I'll take one with me there. There are also a couple of auto restorers in the neighborhood and I'm going to touch base with them.

Right now I have other fish to fry..
