Does anyone know if you can put a 1967 cj-5 jeep body on a 1976 cj-5
would the frame holes line up or was the frame altered on the 1976 to fit the in line cylinder

    thankx

Frame is wider starting in 76. Not a really good swap donor for an early 5.

What Daryl said. It can be done but is not a direct bolt on. Might use the search function as this has been covered quite a bit in the past

The front should work because it's the same widnt as a early cj5 but the rear like other said is wilder. With some modification it should work good.

Except that the tub doesn't bolt to the front, so you are far better off using ANY other universal CJ or DJ frame for the swap. A 76-81 frame would be the very last one that I would ever use. They also were very prone to cracking around the spring hangers, so finding one in good shape is actually pretty hard.

When you say body do you mean the tub or the front clip too? The front clip (fenders, hood, grille) of a '76 is longer than that of '65, so neither fits the other. The tub is the same length, width and shape, but the floors, dash and wheel houses are different.
