I have decided to give my brain a break from all the wiring for the time being and move my focus to the next order of business, spare wheel and tire replacements.

I would like some help identifying the wheels I have, if at all possible, so that I can locate a matching wheel to use for a spare. Someone in a previous post mentioned M151 Mutt wheels. This seemed plausible when comparing pictures to those I found on Ebay but the listings all mention they will not work with the CJ series. 16" wheel size, 10 hole cut outs, appear to be steel. I have not taken them off yet so not sure on the width but may have time later this afternoon to take one off and get a measurement. I will update if I find out more.

As far as tires go. They all need replacements, plus I will need a 5th for a spare. The current tires are 700-16 Coopers. I don't think this is the stock size for my CJ but I like the way this size looks so will most likely stick with that size or close to it. There seems to be a big debate between bias ply and radials. I suppose I have no preference but would like to keep the old school look and feel, so I am leaning towards a bias ply. I came across another thread where people mentioned tires they liked but it seemed that a lot of them are no longer made. Once I get the Jeep road worthy, I plan on doing some light off roading and driving around town a bit here and there. Does anyone have recommendations on tires that are currently available and recommendation on a vendor to purchase them through? Would I be better off having a local tire shop order them for me?

As a side note, in the little bit of looking around I have done, I do like the more aggressive look of the STA Super Traxions but did not see them in the 700-16 size. I believe they have 650-16 though which wouldn't be a drastic change.

I apologize if this post is better suited elsewhere, I am still getting used to how things work here. I appreciate all the help and welcome wishes I have received so far! Thank you

I did some more looking tonight. Pulled the left rear wheel off. I found a 2 inch spacer installed on her so now I am back to thinking these may be M151 Mutt wheels. They measure roughly 6.5 - 7" wide. I couldn't see any markings on the front or back besides what appeared to be four 1's or I's. They could also just be a scratch or something else meaningless. 20200617_184337.jpg 20200617_184342.jpg 20200617_184456.jpg 20200617_184515.jpg

I agree. I've seen them before on CJ's and they normally look ridiculous because they're offset so far inboard, but the 2" spacer would solve that.

Those spacers definitely help, it just looks different but not necessarily out of place.

Yes, Those are M151 (Mutt) rims, and are not very appropiate on a CJ5. Those are negative offset rims, like those typically found on front wheel drive cars. Because of the design of the M151 independant suspension on all 4 corners, they used the negative offset.
For what its worth, those 5 parallell lines on your rim were made by a rim-clamp tire machine.
I would be looking for a set of conventional rims for a Jeep, either 15" or 16" with a more appropriate offset/backspace. That way, you can also get rid of those spacers too.
