I'm planning on upgrading the linkage on Lizzy.
    It's a '66 w/ stock steering linkage/Ross Box.
I'm planning on getting Herms set up and just
want to make sure this is all I need.

That and some grease and you should be set. Watch tie rod to spring clearance on the pass side-I don't remember if you have a lift. Iirc I cut off one spring wrap/clamp for clearance.

    Thanks Mike.

I have a 1" over stock spring lift. I checked the clearance.
It looks good. Looking forward to the upgrade.

    Thanks again Mike.

Is this going on a Ross box (ala Jeepster) or one piece to eventual Saginaw or other swap??

OK, Herms' ad doesn't make it too clear as it's listed w/his conversions page. Also says "w/out gearbox or pitman arm" which made me think it wasn't for the Ross box.

If you do have tie rod to spring clearance issues, just put a 1* (or 2* if you want the extra caster) shim under the axle. I just (today) put in 3*, but I had 2* just for that reason.

Patrick, it's looking like I'll be OK on the clearance. But I will keep that in mind
    during the installation. Thanks guys.

was anything the matter with the stock parts?
or do you just want a stronger setup?

The one piece tie rod keeps toe in at a constant where as the stock setup allows toe in to change with suspension travel.

Nope, nothing wrong w/ the parts. Just tired of
fighting the steering. This set up will eliminate
the wander the CJ has. Just like Patrick said.

Been wanting to do this swap for a while. Just
    never got to it.

One of the best things you can do next to just rebuilding everything if you are retaining the Ross box...

I would add that the addition of a two hole knuckle to the passenger side would make it even better.
You eliminate the double tie rod end as both single tie rod ends terminate at the knuckle in their own respective holes.
It also moves the pitman arm tie rod end further forward for increased leverage and easier manual steering.

Mike, I did the swap yesterday. Unbelievable difference. I had to used one of
the orginal tie rods because the new one was way too long. The down tube
seems to be about 2" to long. I'm going to get the tube shortened and
    threaded.

    My questions are:

Was there any type of other changes you had to make? I seem to have
enough clearance from the springs. Everything else seems to be good.

Is this setup for a CJ w/ Saginaw steering? And not the Ross box set up?

I'll get a couple tonight. And again when I swap out
the down tube in a couple of days. I'm waiting for the
shortened tube. It's getting dropped off @ a machine
shop today and they are cutting off 2" and re threading
    the inside.

In the mean time I'm using one of the old tie rods in
    it's place.
