I am fed up with these cheap parts store thermostats. They seem to work for about 6 months and then fail. I completely removed it from my 134F. With the near 100 degree temps it seems ok but with winter coming does anyone have a recommendation for a good replacement that will last. O and before you ask yes I have checked the last 2 I threw out. 160 degree thermostat. Would barley open at 190 degrees. Both STANTS form Auto Zone.

I have had good luck from NAPA. Def should run a thermostat, from my experience. I hope this helps.

You need a thermostat. Condensation in the oil and other bad things happen otherwise.

Definitely use a thermostat. It can also help maintain a more even temperature in the whole block.
