Time for a new fuel pump?

    I have a 62, F134 with the original glass bowl fuel pump. After driving it today I noticed that there is fuel running out of the pump. Its coming from a rectangular hole below the fuel line (see photo). So before I fork out some more cash, I wanted to see if it just may need cleaned or should I plan on getting a rebuild kit/new pump?

    The diaphragm is leaking so yes a rebuild kit or new one is in order. It would be best to not drive it any more till you fix it, gas can leak straight into the crankcase too. Check your oil for gas.

    Be sure to identify which pump you have before you order your kit. I have made that mistake, which can be found in another thread. Otherwise, a fun little job.

    If you want to rebuild it pull the pump, there's a number stamped into the mounting flange you'll need to order the proper kit. I got mine from these guys-

    Otherwise you should be able to get a replacement unit from any of the usual suppliers.
