thicker rear corners

    I put mine on with a thick bead of silicone in 1999. I had one side off a couple of years ago, doing some other repairs, and it looked fine underneath.

    On my TJ I sealed the top and sides with silicone and left the bottom open.

    With my rock sliders bolted to the body....I just removed them, clean out the dirt and crud that can hold moisture, repair paint if needed, put back on....Here in relatively dry Colo, they haven't needed much yet...I don't think you can keep everything out, so better to allow it to breath as much as possible?
