I found some seats by spending a great deal of time on CL, state by state, city by city, these sahara seats popped up for 350, but he's in St. Louis and won't ship. I've had online communications with him and seems nice, but still won't ship. I offered what he wants, pay for his time and shipping of course, and don't need the base supports in an attempt to lessen the weight, but still no go:( These seats are stupid hard to find~ the seller said he found a jeep, drove 800miles to buy it, primarily for the seat! and that was my idea!! lol

I had a pretty good day today! I had installed a idle air speed control valve earlier, but finally got the fuel pressure regulator. The regulator was leaking horribly. After re-assembly of my tilt column(replaced the wiper switch), I could crank the engine to start(again), I bought a fuel pressure gauge to boot! Another tool!!! Before the engine was idling up and down, up and down, and ran poorly.
omg, the engine ran perfectly!! I ran it up to operating temperature and it got even better, 42psi fuel pressure;) I'm happy!

Hi, good news! A fella here in Houston, on the Jurassic park forum, had a complete interior, a little weathered, but had the seat, carpet, console, etc! He even brought it over to me! so, I got the seats, took all the upholstery off, washed each piece in my large sink, then rinsed really well, and they came out baby soft! Everything was filthy, but nothing I can't handle! ;)

This seat I put back together today, the rest will have to wait and I have some other things I need to do.

This is the lower back seat, it's easy-smeesy to work on. has a zipper on the back, take it off, wash it,etc
    [IMG]

Today I cleaned the carpet, soapy water and a good pressure washing!

It's out of a '93 Jeep wrangler and fit perfectly, also got the console which I'll restore to looking new like the dash.

I'm really kicking butt, but still a lot to do, but having a great deal of fun!

Gee, I'm getting really good at doing stuff! A wonderful day, re-installing the hood!

Let's not forget what the hood did look like a bunch of months ago!

After washing all the upholstery, you know ,removing the upholstery, washing in a sink, it looks fantastic! There is plenty of room for legs, I thought it would be like in my '68 where your knees would be up in your chest, but there's plenty of room for legs!

A few weeks and I should be doing the red stripes! Jurassic era here I come!!! ;)

Dne, you continue to amaze with the progress that you make. Can I hire you to come visit up here for a weekend? I'd be done and on the road!

    Great job!

I see you've noted a few of the comforts that 30 years of refinement brings.... unfortunately even as a Jurassic Jeep, it won't be as cool as your other one!

Thank you;) I'd love to pop up there! it's a nice thought anyway;) My assortment of classics(67 Mustang, 59 chevy apache, '73 Triumph, '68 Cj5 & '92 yj, I think just shows a diverse assortment of interests, and mostly American except for the TR6(don't know what I was thinking), but I love my toys! Unless I can sell one, like the '59 Apache, I don't think there will be another project, just costs too much, but now I'm more of a fleet mechanic just keeping them all running; seems like something always pops up whether battery goes dead, or a master cylinder decides to die, or one just decides not to start! lol

Well, got to workin on the drivers seat, I have already repaired the foam at this time, so now it's time to fix the tear in the seat;) First thing I did was take a seam pic and remove the inflamed area and the bad vinyl piping.

Then laid the piece and ironed it out to make a template or pattern.

I then sewed the new piping on with #10 thread spacing
    [IMG]

this is a piping foot for my high lead walking foot sewing machine;) Spared no expense!

Then sewed it all up and tadaaa!!! ;) The seat backs are next, but it's a great ab work out not having the seat backs in;)

Everything seem to be working so far; engine sounds good, clutch works, radio, the seats look incredible. my wheels are ready to picked up as they were sandblasted and I still need to paint them. Maybe next week I can start putting the red stripes and Jurassic stuff on it;) I'm getting kind of sad cause the journey is near an end again:(

I wound up making new back of the seat bags, the one I had was weathered, my new ones came out nice;) The double looking bag on the wheel well goes on the drivers/passenger doors which I have yet to finish~ great, there's still more to do!!!:bananatool::bananatool:

I just saw a WTB on the local CL for the same seats you picked up.

Yes, when I was scouring the CL nationwide, I saw the WTB frequently. The upholstery material is also stupid hard to come by! I've heard through the Jurassic gang and YJ forums that there are a few upholstery shops hoarding the stuff and if you can buy it, it's like 120 bucks

Gee, I'm just moving right along~ when the sun shines, I shine! I love the sunshine! :D:bananatool:

Well, a few days ago, I had my local sandblaster guy sandblast these wheels. 25bucks per wheel. I decided to paint them vs. powder coat. After they were blasted, I still need to sand them down and the blasting process seems to rough up the aluminum in this case.

At this point I had washed each wheel in really hot soapy water so they're squeaky clean!

So, here on my low/tall jack stands which spin, makes painting rims so much easier, the 5 wheel was just on a jack stand.

Hey, if you look in the mirror, you can see me!!!:D:bananatool::clap::clap:

I forget what red, but I painted them in a matte finish to match the sand beige. This color will also be the stripes on the jeep! Now for some tires ;)

This is me painting the wheels on my '68 jeep, I'm experienced!:sneak:

Dne, how do you keep your shop from being covered in overspray, or do you not mind it in that area?

I have some big doors, and there was a bit of a breeze, but my Accuspray gun seems to put out less overspray and besides, I'm just spraying smaller things most the time, but again, the over spray seems to be less with this Acuspray system. Also when spraying clear coats, that seems to put out some spray, then I have my super large fan to suck out, and then for protective, I have my fresh air breathing system;)

I sprayed some small stuff outside with the Dakota within stone’s throw’s reach... I’ve been dreading the day my wife asks why the whole driver’s side and windshield feel so rough.
