T-18 in a jeepster

    Anyone know how possible it is to bolt a T-18 to the 225?

    John, there have been a lot of posts about putting the T-18 behind the 225. You can use the Ford T-18 and follow Novak's instructions for adapting to a GM bell, then use their kit. Or, you can use a J-truck T-18 and use a Ford input shaft and mostly follow Novak's instructions - the Jeep trans has one bolt off from the Ford, so you'll have to drill the bell. Or, you can use a Jeep or IH T-18 or T-19 for the main shaft and adapter, add that to a Ford T-18/19, and bolt to the bell per Novak's instructions. Lots of possibilities. Look for Nickmil's old posts on this topic - he has a lot of hands-on experience with these swaps. hth!

    Did Jeep ever do this? I saw someone post a 71 CJ5 for sale with a factory 225/T18 setup

    Oh, wait. Re-read it and it was a Ford T-18 conversion.

    I have seen '72-73 Commandos with the 258/T-18 combo, so I guess it's possible the '71 Commando could have the 225/T-18 like the CJ...
