I put a Grant steering wheel on mine. There are all types of different types.
I got a smaller diameter, and about 3/4" deep dish. It really helped out w/
how the seating is. Gave me some more room between the wheel and my
girth!! I had to use an adapter but since the CJ was mostly stock, the column
was stock. What you need to know is the diameter of the shaft and the splines.
As for asking someone about what adapter, maybe contact Grant direct.
    Good luck!!!

strangely enough, I was looking at steering wheels too . . . having power steering I didn't understand why the big steering wheel from a late 60's Pontiac was still in the Jeep. However, having visited several speed shops, I now know why -- nobody can tell me which adaptor kit to use and/or if the steering wheel would actually fit. Maybe just not worth the hassle?

Grant makes 2 adaptors for the CJ5, 1 is for up to 64 or so and the other is later. look at the horn button, early is about 1 1/2 inches across, the later ones are about 3 inches
