After reading another topic I wanted to ask for some opinions. I am putting in Saginaw steering with a DJ column. How do most of you supprt the column? I plan on using the small U-clamp around the column at the dash and I assume some kind of clamp at the bottom to the floor? Is this sufficient? I don't really have much faith in the little U-clamp at the dash. It seems like a good tug on the wheel (or a big bump) and it could come loose. What have most of you used on the floor clamp? Anyone using anything else besides these two?

    thanks in advance,
    Stephen

The first saginaw conversion I did I used a u-bolt to hold the column to the dash( homemade column 1 3/4 exhaust tubing flaired at the end w/bronze bushings) but my dash was rather sturdy because I converted to hanginging pedals and I secured it to the floor. At the time I had some of the same thoughts your having but it held up for many years. I also had the thought if the column did move if I had accident on or off the road I would appreciate that :p
