steering column disassembly

How does the horn button come off. I didn't want to pry it or force it without knowing. The column has a nasty squeal when turning.

 

There is a small slot at the bottom of the button, to insert a small screwdriver to pry it off. It is hard to spot.
This allows you to remove the plastic emblem only. When you get it off, you will see the three screws that hold the horn button on.
On my 71 Jeepster, the nasty squeal is at the bottom of of the column. Try oiling it down there. I have to have my wife push down on the wheel, against the spring. This allows me to get a little oil on the lower bushing.
