Starters, Flywheels, Bell Housings

Is there something listed on the net or could someone tell me what matches with what?
I have an L Head, six volt starter, that matches a bell housing that has the starter bushing in the bell housing. This seems to match a 97 tooth flywheel from what I have read. I have a F head, twelve volt starter, that seems to match a bell housing that does not have a starter bushing in it. Are all of these bell housings the same? Anything different between the early bell housing with starter busing and the later one without other than the starter bushing? I understand that the later starter requires a different flywheel (more teeth). What are the other combinations of bell housings, starters and flywheels? Is this listed somewhere? I searched the forum and saw some things about specific applications, but not enough that I get it all. Thanks.
