So earlier this month I took my 1995 YJ to Uwharrie National Forrest and was doing some light wheeling. In the woods, my transmission shifter dropped about 4". Ended up the frame rails where the transmission crossmember attached rusted out. So I took the Jeep and a donor rolling chassis to a friend who teaches Auto shop to begin the transplant surgery.

They were repaired about 4 years ago with Safe-T-Cap Kits - autorust.com
On my original frame. The new frame had no rust showing anywhere

After a break for Christmas, and a New Semester my free labor is back in class. They were able to get the motor and trans installed on the new frame and pushed the old frame out of the shop.

I'm planning on treating the classes somehow when they finish. I just have to work with the teacher to be sure I don't break any rules.
