I just bought a '66 CJ-5 that has this marked on the "trim" tag (and nothing else). The Jeep has a 4 speed transmission (T-98 I assume) and a read PTO. It also had the rear PTO style "bumper" with the hole in it but unfortunately the drive shaft, rear gear box, etc is all missing. The Jeep appears to have originally been painted the bright Michigan Yellow. Can anyone shed any light on this special order and who or what it might have been built for? (I HAVE searched the net and this site for every scrap of information about Special Sales Order No, but didn't find much.)

The SSO only means something to Jeep. Jeep would have kept records, but I expect they are long gone.
