But no axle, springs, shocks, hubs, wheels, tires, or pintle hook?

Yep, one of the surplus CDN units may be a better bargain. Besides they're more solidly built.

Well I don't want a pintle hook, those things suck for driving down the road banging constantly. As far as the axle, springs and hubs they cost about another $200 locally. The combat wheels depend. The originals didn't have shocks. Tires and wiring are cheap. How many of the guys on here have paid $500-$600 for apiece of crap that they had another $500 in to make it useable. The Canadian trailers are an option but they'll cost probably $600 to get this far south maybe more.
I look at it as an option. I have looked long and hard with in about 150 miles af me, when I found one they were junk or they were so proud of them they wanted almost this much for one that still was not all original. Just presenting another option.
If I could find one locally for $400-$600 or so I would buy it in a heartbeat, never seen one that cheap and I'm not driving 200 miles to buy one for $750 only to be disappointed when I get there after having spent $60 in gas. I know what you mean but this is still not bad, you could have a brand new trailer for probably $1900 or there abouts.
Besides I already have Jeep wheels and hubs and can get springs for about $45 a pair.

You could drop the price to about 950, by using only the repro tub. Not much fab work to the frame, see Boyink's page and you could use northern tool jeep fenders in place of those of the 100 each fenders offered by the mfg.

I came across this:http://jeepdraw.com/Willys_MBT.html on G503. He's comparing to an original but some good shots of the repro frame and other areas. IF the one Mcruff posted is the MD Juan one, here's a chance to see B4 you buy.HTH

if all your worried about is $$, then maybe the repro is for you....
but why have 2nd best when you could own the real deal ?
so what if you have to fix it up
that's what you do to old cars, Jeeps, trailers, whatever
    you restore them
    my 0.2 worth

Jim not to be to picky and not trying to be a smart butt, but a huge percent of these trailers are so far gone that they are basically new by the time you get them finished restoring and by then there not the real deal anymore.:(
I realize that restoration is a thing of love but sometimes you just want to have something to use not cherish like the beloved family classic car.

Sorry Sparky I didn't realize they came with shocks originally.

M416s did. Earlier versions didn't. MOP retrofitted 'em to his trailer. So you're mostly right. I was just teasing.

I paid $250 for my Bantam and it was perfectly useable, no rust through, and pulled 275 miles home like a dream. I chose to put another $400 into it to make it shiny and extend it's life another 50 years. Did I have to, no, but I would take mine with a few bumps and dings over a $2000 version any day of the week.

When you find another trailer thats in good shape that close again, quietly email me and I will send you a check and be up there the next weekend to pick it up.;)
The 2 that I have found locally for $300 would need the springs, axles, part of the frame most of the body and the hitch replaced, oh and they didn't have lights or wiring!
