Woohoo....after going to 4 different graphics/sign/printing companies today that can not do the work, I was finally directed to a 5th place that said it would be no problem to reproduce a Civilian Bantam data plate. They will cut and drill the plate to correct size, then do the "sublimation". It is UV protected so should not fade much. It will be made of brushed aluminum, so should look fairly original.

I am going to use 1/8" stamps from harbor freight to copy my model and serial number.

Did I send you one of the stickers I had done? If I haven't...I just ran out.

Basically I had them made as an overlay, with a window for the s# to show through.

If you're gonna have them done, have a few dozen made up -- you can turn a couple bucks ea. on them.

Nope..and I read on your site you were out. I even sent Frank Sanborn an email, but got no response. These will be a full plate, as my model and serial numbers were pretty rough after being painted over then sanded down to see them again.

I am considering getting more made up to provide to others, and the store said they would save the art and specs and I could have more made any time. But, I want to see the finished product before I jump in with both feet.

How much were your overlays a piece?

If folks are looking to make reproduction Bantam plates, would suggest Nostalgic Reflections up in WA:

    http://www.nostalgicreflections.com/

This outfit has the capability to make true acid-etched plates like the originals were. They've made a lot of repro hood badges and builder's plates for some of the better antique truck restorations around.

The decals that Mike had made are top-notch (thanks for mine, Mike!), but acid-etched plates are the real deal.

Take a look at this thread...

    http://www.earlycj5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24348

All is said and done at this point. I will be ordering two of them for Chris tomorrow. Let me know if you want any. As I mentioned in that post, the rivet holes on my original tag and the holes in the trailer were a little off due to wear/age of the tag. I am having them drill pilot holes for Chris with 3 11/16" center to center distance. I would suggest you check your measurment to see if it is the same before I have any made.
