Question about Dana 18 Speedo Drive Gear

    Hey all,

    In the process of giving my abused Dana 18 some TLC. I noticed that when I pulled it apart, the the speedo drive gear has no teeth on the inside... It just sits on the output shaft!? How does it spin if the output shaft can rotate inside of the gear without grabbing?

    Forgive my ignorance I'm fairly new to this stuff...

    It's locked in place when rear output yoke is tighten
