    PROJECT: Jeepers Hate Cancer

This project is no longer for me but rather to fight the battle all our families face against deadly cancer. I plan to donate all of the money this jeep brings to a good friend and family member diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The acution is to be held on June 9th in Big Creek, MS. http://www.facebook.com/#!/HuntForHopeWithDavidEllett/posts/385305608159894 The jeep needs a lot but I plan on pouring my heart and sould into it to make it worth of the cause it will represent. I know most of the people on this forum are too far away but If you want to bid and can guarantee payment I will send many pics and place bids the day of the auction. I will also deliver this for the price of fuel and lodging depending on the distance. The project is a 69 cj-6 that was a taken apart for painting and never finished. What I have is a naked body without lights, gauges, etc. I did come with a new painless harness and 5 tubs of parts. It's a jeep so supposedly all the drivetrain was rebuilt but I'll see how true that turns out to be.

start a build thread in the builds forum and then use this forum posting up specific questions, easier to keep track, and answer......easier for others to search later

So far today I was able to get the harness roughed in. I got started on routing and wiring the engine and headlight sections. This jeep also has the vented windshield frame. Out of the twenty or so I've owned I have never had one. It's missing a lot but I'm going to try and bring it back to life.

I got the engine section of the harness wired up. Once Its all finished and tested I'll cover it all and make it look nice.

Now I'm not sure if this windshiled isn't just a normal one. I can't find the inner portion in any of the parts so I'm leaning toward just throwing some glass in it and being done.

I'm out of the country at the moment but just got off the phone with my wife. The auction is for her cousin, who is only 42 years old and has two young kids. He is self employed and the type that would never ask for help. The auction is scheduled for June 9th in Big Creek, MS. I plan on working my *** off to make this Jeep the highlight of the auction. Its going to take a lot of time and money on my part but he and his family deserve it. My familly has a long history with cancer and its devistation. This is an opportunity to combine my love for Jeeping with an opportunity to help a family member in need. I also hope this will be an opportunity for my jeep friends to have the chance to purchase a nice driving CJ-6 at a good price. 100% of the purchase price of this jeep will go to the family. This includes the purchase price and money I've already put into this jeep. There are several other items I plan to add to this jeep before the auction. I am going to do my best to restore this jeep as if I planned on keeping it for my family to enjoy.

I wanted to add a list of part I need to buy, steal, or trade for pretty soon. If you have any of this for sale and are close or willing to ship please let me know. I plan on ordering all the parts in the next week or so to get this done by the deadline. All parts are for and early model CJ-5/6: wiper switch, headlight swithc, speedometer, glove box latch, glove box insert, horn, seats or seat covers, steering wheel, brake lights and turn lights, windshiled, shocks. I'm sure there are other parts I will be needing but this is the list at the moment. As soon as I get back in country I plan to make a trip to Tedfords in Batesville, MS to get as much as I can before I hit the internet.
