Photos Please: 69/70 Seat Fabric

I've been poking around looking for the "right" seat trim. The Jeep is a '69 Kaiser of Canada ECJ-5, and the original color is Omaha Orange according to the original owner (my uncle) and under the cowl it's definitely orange. But I cannot seem to find any reference to what the seats should look like, because well, Kaiser didn't offer Omaha Orange in 1969 or 1970...per their brochure. timgr says Omaha Orange was always offered, so be it.

This is the original seat, in current condition; passenger left, driver right:

My uncle says the seats are original, never recovered, but I did remove a mangey old aftermarket cover off each one, and the sheepskin that was on top of that. Per the discussion with timgr, it should likely be Charcoal 340, or possibly Buckskin 338. Personally I prefer Charcoal.

I want to find some material for my local upholsterer, who has done some great jobs on other classic cars. But I'm not sure how it should "look". My current seats are Rugged Ridge Buckskin, but I prefer the originals.

A photo of the original Charcoal would be great, best is a referral to a maker who can provide a near match copy.

I have the original seats and covers in my 66 cj5. Unfortunately, I don't have the computer savy to post the photos. I can send them to an email address I think. They were taken with my phone.

Okay, lots of help from Frank and Keith. Looks like my Jeep is truly a '69 based on serial number. That means that Omaha Orange would typically come with Rawhide #289 for trim. I've got a request in with SMSFabrics for a sample of Rawhide 289, Buckskin 338 and Charcoal 340.

Turns out the missus prefers the Buckskin...

I'm going with Rawhide; SO says it looks better with the Omaha Orange. I like both...so we're going with Rawhide.

 

That one is #338 Buckskin. That vinyl started in 1970. Great choice!!
