I have been searching this site for info on original tire sizes on the Renegade models. I understand the R1s had the KH steel wheels, and the R2s had the aluminum 'D' slotted wheels that used a special lug nut and the intermediate Renegades had aluminum slotted wheels.
I read that the R1 wheels where 8" wide. Where all of the Renegade wheels 15 x 8? What backspacing did they have. What was the original tire size. Was there a size difference between the early Renegade tires and the intermediate Renegade tires?
I like the slotted wheels and would like to get close to the original tire size the R1 and R2s came with.
currently my Jeep has 31 x 10.5/15s on the ground with steel wagon wheels and a 7.5 x 16 as a spare on a KH 16 x 6.5" with a 3" back spacing (measured with a tire shop's caliper). the spare appears to be the same height as the 31 x 10.5s.
    Here is the spare.

I'm guessing at L78-15 Goodyear Suburbanites.

I'm pretty sure the intermediate (AMC) Rennegades had 7" wide alloys, and I know the R1 Kelsey Hayes steelies are 8" wide.
